£1m Gusto gets ready for West Bridgford opening

High-end restaurant brand Gusto is set to open its doors in Nottingham next month (Thursday 9th February from 5pm), marking its first restaurant in the East Midlands.

Gusto, which is part of the Living Ventures Group, has 15 restaurants across the UK and the new Nottingham site, located in the city’s West Bridgford suburb, is part of the company’s ongoing plans for growth. The latest restaurant will see 50 jobs created for the local area and more than £1m invested in a complete refurbishment.

Managing director of Gusto, Sue Crimes said: “We’re really excited to open our latest bar and restaurant – the West Bridgford site is the perfect location for our clientele and it’s at the heart of the busy food and drink scene in the area.

“The Midlands is a hive of restaurant activity and following the success of our Birmingham restaurant we felt Nottingham was the right move for our brand. The reception from locals has been fantastic, we’ve been overwhelmed with the number of table bookings we’ve received before we’ve even opened the doors – Nottingham is excited for Gusto and we couldn’t be more thrilled.”

The restaurant, located on the main high street in West Bridgford is replacing the previous Monkey Tree bar and restaurant, which closed last year. The new venue will host 106 covers, with a further 36 seats in its newly built conservatory, 22 within the bar and space for an additional 30 covers on the outside terrace.

Gusto launched in 2005 and private investment in 2014 has led to rapid expansion of the restaurant brand. With the casual dining market growing, Gusto is well positioned for growth in 2017.

Sue continued: “We plan to open three new sites this year, with West Bridgford being the first. We believe the success of our restaurants is down to excellent staff training, freshly prepared food and great atmosphere. We also have a lot of loyalty from our customer base, thanks to our partnerships with local businesses and organisations and our exclusive Dining Club membership scheme.”

Gusto, which rebranded in March 2016, welcomes families, foodies and those looking for a classic free poured cocktail from lunch until late.

“There is a really signature look and feel to Gusto,” said Sue.

“We’ve worked with an interior designer, who is from Nottingham, and in-house design team to ensure it has a sparkly vibe, welcoming and sumptuous and our latest restaurant design also incorporates the well-known monkey tree at the site, which has become a local landmark.”

Best-selling dishes including spaghetti pesto with green beans, sun-dried tomatoes and rocket leaves and freshly homemade pizzas as well as an extensive drinks list, ‘make your own pizza’ children’s menu and lunch options.
