1. Peter and the Starcatcher
Date: Tuesday 29th November – Saturday 31st December
Location: Royal & Derngate, Northampton

The Royal stage will be transformed into Neverland this month for the European Premiere of Peter and the Starcatcher, directed by Luke Sheppard.
Winner of five Tony Awards for its hugely successful run on Broadway, this prequel brings one of literature’s most beloved characters to life as the audience help to solve the mystery of how Peter became the boy who never grew up. With twelve actors playing more than 100 characters, the audience will be whisked away to the magical world of lost boys, pirates, and mermaids.

2. Christmas Arts and Craft fair
Date: Saturday 3rd – Friday 23rd December
Location: Market Place, Derby

Have a wander through Derby’s fair full of independent crafters and find a unique gift for someone special this Christmas. The stalls will include unique creations, from clothes, handmade soap and toys to decorative items for your home, country preserves to cakes and luxury chocolates, all created by local artisans.

3. Carols by Candlelight
Date: Saturday 3rd December
Location: St Peter’s Church, Nottingham

St Peter’s Church will be hosting its first ever Carols by candlelight concert this weekend. Set to be a magical evening full of festive readings, charity, sing-along carols and delicious warm winter treats, the service is a great way to celebrate the season and get into the festive spirit.

4. Haunted Heritage
Date: Saturday 3rd – Sunday 4th December
Location: Donington Le Heath, Coalville, Leicestershire

Set in the 1620s house where there have been several ghost sightings, the site offers a range of paranormal experiences for visitors looking for an eerie thrill. Group members will have the opportunity to explore the house, gardens and barn using a range of paranormal investigative equipment such as dousing rods, EMF meters, Ghost Boxes, as well as participate in séances, glass divination and table-tipping sessions.

5. Medieval Christmas market
Date: Thursday 1st – Sunday 4th December
Location: Medieval Bishops’ Palace, Lincoln

Step back in time this weekend at the Lincoln’s medieval Christmas market and find unique gifts for loved ones. Browse the range of historic market stalls selling a variety of festive goods and gifts and enjoy medieval themed food and drink at Medieval Bishops’ Palace. With traders donning their best medieval costumes amid traditional music of the period, the market is set to transport visitors all the way back to the Middle ages for just one weekend.
