Brady Solicitors poach renowned real estate lawyer

Julie Carr and Clare Brady

Specialist property law firm Brady Solicitors has recruited Julie Carr as a director and head of real estate development.

Carr joins Nottingham-based Bradys from DWF in Leeds, where she was a partner and head of the firm’s residential development team.

Brady managing director Clare Brady said: “Julie’s appointment is a real coup for Bradys and the perfect fit for the firm. She is exceptionally well regarded in the industry and has a wealth of property development and PRS experience acting for developers, investors and freeholders within various large scale development projects.

“Many of the property litigation issues that we deal with at Brady Solicitors arise because issues at the development stage were not properly considered. Julie will be able to help developers across all sectors to consider those early-stage development aspects that help to avoid litigation and contribute to future harmony.”

An expert in land development from pre-allocation through to disposal, Carr brings over 14 years’ experience of dealing with strategic land and negotiating option agreements and planning promotion agreements.

She started her career as an in-house lawyer at Henry Boot and continues to act for their subsidiary, Hallam Land Management.

“This is an exciting opportunity for me to work with this dynamic, young firm to build the real estate development offering. We share the view that asset management and the ability to easily dispose of a land investment asset free from shortfalls, voids and management issues should be considered at the onset of development and carried through in the estate set up process”, said Carr.
