Leicestershire-based farmers are set to open a new glamping camp site on their farm after receiving a five-figure loan from HSBC.

W S Jackson & Son, a family-run farming business set on Othorpe House Farm in Leicestershire, plans to open the new camp site, Hidden Hideaway, this Easter.

W S Jackson & Son used the cash to buy two safari tents, whcih sleep up to six people.

The new venture will provide a secondary income for the Othorpe House Farm’s owners, William and Ellie Jackson, who are primarily arable farmers.

William Jackson, said: “Hidden Hideaway is an ideal investment for our business. We’re located in a much loved holiday destination and have access to secluded land. The future of our farm is always front of mind and we felt creating a glamping destination in Leicestershire was an ideal way to innovate and grow our business, as well as securing a future for our farm. We are surrounded by ample footpaths and bridleways and are only a short drive to nearby Market Harborough and Uppingham making us a perfect location for holiday makers.”

Dave Welch, area director for business banking in Leicestershire, said: “Will came to us earlier this year looking to diversify the business with the addition of an on-site glamping tent. Our team worked closely with the business to put together a funding plan to best support their ambitions for the farm and its next phase of development. The Jacksons have a strong vision for the future of their business and we’re pleased to play a part in making that a reality.”
