Travel alert: Storm Doris causes chaos on East Mids train lines

Damage to the overhead electrical wires at St Albans caused by Storm Doris is disrupting East Midlands Trains on the London/Nottingham/Sheffield route.

The operator says specialist technicians have finished their assessment and are hoping to allow some trains to run to and from St Pancras “soon”.

All East Midlands trains on the route can still not run in either direction between London and Luton.

At present East Midlands Trains has no estimate of when the line will fully reopen but says it isn not expecting a full service for the rest of the day.
