Liberty Property Trust snaps up 200,000 sq ft Northants site

Liberty Property Trust has bought a key logistics site in Northamptonshire.

Liberty, Brackmills will accommodate a development of around 200,000 sq ft of warehouse space

Andrew Blevins, managing director of the UK arm of the US-based developer, said: “This site, in the ‘Golden Triangle’ of the logistics sector, represents a rare pre-let opportunity for an end user and will add to our growing UK warehouse and industrial portfolio, which amounts to 1.4 million sq ft.

“We also have 1.4 million sq ft in the development pipeline located at strategic sites in Widnes, Worcester and Lichfield.”

Simon Holley, of development managers Equation Properties, said: “We are delighted to be working with Liberty to provide top quality warehouse logistics accommodation in a highly visible location – the former Howard Paper building – close to the M1, M6 and M42. The park is arguably the UK’s most established and has already attracted significant occupiers such as John Lewis, Wickes, Great Bear, Panasonic and Coca Cola.”

Northampton is at the centre of the UK’s distribution infrastructure, in an area that has become known as the Golden Triangle. Liberty, Brackmills is being marketed by letting agents DTRE and Burbage Realty.
