East Mids accountancy firm aims to double in size by 2020

The Mazars team

The accounting and advisory department at the East Midlands offices of Mazars says it has recorded record levels of growth over the last two years.

With 12 new recruits across the board from school leaver trainees to experienced senior management, the team, which is now 25-strong, has almost doubled in size in the space of 18 short months.

2015 saw the arrival of senior manager, Ismail Sidat; assistant manager, Nikky Hall; qualified accountants Andrew Cosgriff and Nazira Rahman and trainees Ellie Griffiths and Emily Hubbard.

2016 saw further trainee appointments with George Osborne; Georgia Braithwaite and Lauren Heath joining during the year.

Qualified accountant, Claire Cooper, joined in January and bosses at Mazars say further recruits are in the pipeline.

Steve English, partner at Mazars, said: “It’s been an incredibly exciting couple of years for our team and we’ve welcomed some wonderful talent into our ranks. The speed at which the department has grown is testament to the quality of our people, the excellence of our unique client centric approach to service delivery and the class and ambition of our client base. That said, there are no plans to stop just yet. We have an ambitious growth strategy for ourselves which will see our team double in size by 2020 to meet the needs of our expanding client base.”
