Derbyshire-based law firm Elliot Mather has announced expansion plans with an investment in new premises after landing a funding deal with Barclays.

Elliot Mather operates across Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire with offices in Mansfield, Matlock, Nottingham, Derby and Chesterfield. The practice has bought new premises at St Mary’s Court, Chesterfield which will replace all three present offices in the town.

Julie Page, managing partner of Elliot Mather said: “We have been looking for premises for some time so that we can bring all of our Chesterfield operations under one roof and have a modern spacious office that will enable us to better serve our clients. St Mary’s Court is close to the town centre, very accessible for our clients and the move is a key phase in our plans. Barclays providing funding support offers us flexibility to expand as we continue to invest in both people and premises as part of our growth journey.”

Elliot Mather employs 100 staff across five sites and fee income for the current year is expected to exceed £5m.

Matthew Chenery, Barclays relationship director, said: “I am delighted that Barclays has been able to support Elliot Mather in making what is strategically a very important investment in new premises. The move consolidates their presence in Chesterfield and the surrounding area and sends an important message about their investment into the future prosperity of the practice.”
