5 things to do in the East Midlands this weekend
ASDA Foundation Nottingham 10K
This years Asda Foundation Nottingham 10K is set to be the biggest yet. The Run For All event starts and finishes at Nottingham Forest FC’s ground, on the banks of the River Trent. The course will then take you through the picturesque Lady Bay area before reaching Holme Pierrepont Country Park and taking a lap of the Regatta Lake. Anthony Burgess’ masterpiece A Clockwork Orange is set to take to the stage at Leicester’s Curve Theatre this weekend. The story follows Alex, who commits one act of violence too far and his fate is in the hands of his prisoners. Hastings & Shackleton 40th Anniversary Weekend
Head along to Newark Air Museum this weekend to get involved in the two-day event commemorating 40 years since the iconic aircraft arrived at the museum. Taking place from 10am both days, the event will feature access to both aircrafts and the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight will also perform flypasts each day. Find out more here.
Meet The Ghosts of Nottingham Castle
Nottingham Castle will be host to a fascinating ghost tour this weekend. The tour, which will be led by Kath George, a house assistant who has been responsible for opening and closing the building for many years. Lady Bay Arts Festival 2017
Lady Bay’s arts festival is taking place this weekend and will feature over 80 contemporary artists and makers who will be exhibiting in homes, studios and gardens over the two days. The weekend is offering locals the opportunity to experience a range of art and to meet the artists.
