On the move: the latest East Midlands hires

Chartered accountant, Newby Castleman, has announced the promotions of two members of staff.

Andrea Moran takes over as head of bookkeeping and payroll services.

She said: “I am thrilled with the opportunity to head up a wonderful team of dedicated staff, who I’ve come to know well in my time at Newby Castleman.

“I always felt a career in accountancy was suited to me and this new role gives me the chance to progress my career further. It’s a fantastic environment at Newby Castleman and I really enjoy working here. I am looking forward to playing my part in the ongoing growth of the department.”

Gulam Sattar has been appointed to the position of financial controller.

He said: “To be given the title of financial controller is a proud moment for me. I am excited by the additional responsibility this will entail, as I take charge of all aspects of Newby Castleman’s internal finances and aim to use my experience to put the firm on the best financial footing possible.

“Having studied accountancy through to degree level, it is something that has always held an appeal for me and I look forward to the challenges that await me in my new role, along with the opportunity to build my expertise further.”

Graeme Goodwin

Pensions specialist Graeme Goodwin has joined Chesterfield-based Start Financial Planning as a paraplanner.

He said: “I was attracted by the family feel of the office and the opportunity to take a more hands-on, holistic approach with people planning their financial future. I am not only researching the various markets for our clients’ needs but also liaising with them to ensure a full understanding so that we can deliver the best solution both immediately and ongoing.”
