Middle East expansion brings down Morgan Tucker

Morgan Tucker, the Nottinghamshire-based consulting engineering firm, has gone into administration.

FRP Advisory has been appointed as administrator to the business.

Morgan Tucker employed around 70 people and was headquartered in Newark, with offices in Nottingham, London, Leeds, the Czech Republic and Oman.

The business’s expansion into the Middle East caused significant losses, it has emerged.

Staff at the firm left the business for the last time yesterday (31 May).

The business was established in 2005 by founder and managing director, Matthew Tucker to provide specialist highway, transport and infrastructure engineering design services to clients in both public and private sectors.

Tucker stepped down in February, leaving Steve Hall as managing director of the firm.

In April 2015 private equity firm Foresight Group invested £1m into Morgan Tucker. A statement from Foresight reads: “It is with considerable regret that the decision to appoint FRP was made at a meeting of the company’s Board last week.”
