Node4 snaps up Nottingham database firm

Andrew Gilbert of Node4

Node4, the Cloud, data centre and communications firm, has bought Nottingham-based database managed services business, Onomi.

The value of the deal is undisclosed.

“We view this as an exciting and positive step towards providing businesses with best-in-class technology solutions and enabling them on their IT journey” said Andrew Gilbert, chief executive at Node4.

“Leveraging Onomi’s significant capability and expertise in database management gives us a great opportunity to add further value to our existing and prospective customers by introducing cloud database skills and management services to them,” Gilbert added.

“This is a great opportunity for Onomi. We’ve grown very quickly, and needed to develop our back-office operations but doing it on our own would have required us to slow down. This investment by Node4 enables us to scale the business without any disruption to our customers. We now have the ability to scale and invest in staff and tech to continue to innovate,” said Julian Boneham, director and co-founder at Onomi.”

Andrew Slater, director and co-founder at Onomi, said: “We are already working with the Node4 development team to scale our innovation capabilities. We are coming at the market from a position of renewed strength.”

The deal comes days after Node4 announced it was opening an office in Nottingham, creating 50 jobs.
