Homes plan for former haulage yard

A former lorry haulage yard in the village of Hathern, Leicestershire, is being redeveloped into new homes, following a land deal brokered by local surveyors Mather Jamie.

The brownfield site, on Wide Street, previously operated by Goodacre Brothers, has had planning permission granted for two new houses and a bungalow to be built there.

Dan Sturgess, managing director of Lychgate Homes, which has bought the site and is currently working on the new properties, said; “We’re proud to be bringing three quality new homes to Hathern. This former haulage yard was a prime location for residential redevelopment, and we’re very glad the sale was successfully negotiated by Mather Jamie.”

Michael Tebbutt, surveyor at Mather Jamie, said, “This successful sale means much needed new homes for Hathern at a local site which has been disused for several years. The demand for new residential development remains high in this area, and well located former industrial sites like this have plenty of potential to developers and communities with vision.”
