East Mids business leaders recognised in Queen’s Birthday Honours

Business leaders across the East Midlands are among more than 1,000 named in the Queen’s Birthday Honours list

Nora Senior, the Ruddington-based president of the British Chamber of Commerce, has been awarded a CBE, Peter Richardson, chairman of the D2N2 LEP, becomes an OBE, Mel Morris, owner and chairman of Derby County is now a CBE.

Arvind Kapur, chairman of the National Space Centre in Leicester has been awarded an OBE,
Chandrakant Kataria, chief executive of East Midlands Housing Group, also gets an OBE, as does Nikesh Kotecha, chief executive of Leicester firm Morningside Pharmaceuticals and
Suraj Khandelwal, chairman and managing director of S&A Drapers and SDL Secure Deposit.

Richard Lake, the Lincolnshire owner of Eastern Airways and Humberside Airport also becomes and OBE.

More than half of this year’s honours were awarded to women.
