Derby Conference Centre reveals latest part of £1m upgrade

The Derby Conference Centre has announced the launch of its new conferencing space, the Douie Suite.

The private conferencing area comes as part of a £1m refurbishment project, which began in 2016.

The Douie Suite is named after Bill Douie, the chairman of the parent company RTC Group. The suite was unveiled at the annual RTC awards night and has recently been opened to the public.

Rebecca Prime is the sales and conference office manager at The Derby Conference Centre. She said: “Our Douie Suite is perfect for those looking for a dedicated space to hold team meetings and conferences. We’ve had a fantastic response so far and are pleased to see the Conference Centre continuing to benefit from our investment in the refurbishment project.”

The latest refurbishment adds to last years’ launch of the business lounge, revamp of the Wyvern Bar and renovation of the Stephenson Restaurant, Lecture Theatre, reception and toilets.
