Carl Ackers and Matthew Faulkner

Castle Donington building services consulting engineer Built Environment Consulting (BEC) has announced the promotion of Matthew Faulkner to director.

Faulkner joined BEC in 2013 and has over 10 years of experience in building services design consultancy.

In his new role as director, Faulkner will be responsible for the delivery of the firm’s new Nottingham office which opens later this summer, the recruitment of staff, ongoing project delivery, marketing, business development and client relationships.

Matthew, who recently achieved chartered engineer and MCIBSE status, said: “I am proud to be part of such a well-respected firm and to be involved in its continued growth. Accepting the role of director will allow me to further develop my career and hopes for the business.

“Joining BEC was a smart move. It gave me the chance to expand my engineering skills and knowledge and grow as an individual by developing marketing and management skills that may not have been realised or nurtured elsewhere.

“After several years of hard work, it is very satisfying to have been offered this opportunity and I’m looking forward to taking on this challenge, which has presented me with new focus and drive to succeed not only personally but for everyone at BEC.”

Carl Ackers, director of BEC, said: “Matthew has played a significant role in the success of BEC over the last few years and his promotion is testament to his hard work and commitment to the firm.

“Matthew is highly motivated and a team player; traits that are key to being a part of the BEC team. His proactive and sociable approach is backed-up by a wealth of experience and he’s a great asset to the team.

“Matthew will be leading the new Nottingham office and further building our profile in the city and the wider East and West Midlands; both regions we are very active in.

“BEC believe passionately in rewarding effort and success, and Matthew’s promotion is a testament to the positive culture we have developed at the practice over the years. I wish Matthew all the best with his new position.”
