Vietnamese street food chain set to make East Mids debut

Vietnamese street food restaurant Pho is set to open its first East Midlands outlet in Leicester.

The restaurant will be located in the Highcross Shopping Centre and is set to open this Autumn.

Pho already has 22 restaurants located across the UK. However, Pho’s arrival in Leicester signals the first time the brand has opened a store in the East Midlands.

The restaurant group was started by Brit husband and wife team Stephen and Juliette Wall. They opened the first Pho in London in 2005 after quitting their jobs, travelling around the world and being inspired by street food in Vietnam – primarily the country’s national dish, pho. Pho (the dish is pronounced FUH, the restaurant is pronounced FOH) is the Vietnamese national dish, an aromatic rice noodle soup served with a side plate of fresh herbs.

General manager at Highcross, Jo Tallack said: “We’re excited to confirm the addition of Pho restaurant to Highcross. The new restaurant marks a further enhancement to the centre’s growing dining offer and brings a new cuisine for our visitors to enjoy.”

Pho will be taking up approximately 2,100 sq ft on the corner of Shires Lane and High Street, where it will trade alongside other dining and leisure brands including Byron Burger, TGI Friday’s and Carluccio’s.
