West Bridgford recruitment firm looking to relocate after latest hire

James Hales and Lauren Hulme

West Bridgford recruitment firm Distinct Recruitment has appointed a new marketing recruitment specialist, taking its own head count to 18 people in its first 18 months of trading.

Lauren Hulme, a brand manager from Vision Express, will support head of marketing James Hales in recruiting for the region’s marketing roles.

Hales said: “We are seeing huge demand for marketing roles and it is one of our fastest growing division here at Distinct. Marketing has transitioned from a ‘nice to have’ to a ‘must have’ and has staked a rightful place in the strategy of all ambitious businesses.

“There is a wide range of major retailers based across the region including the likes of Boots, Dunelm, Raleigh, Wilko’s and Aurum who require highly skilled and well-rounded marketing candidates but the demand is there across all sectors and all sizes of business.”

Hulme added: “It is an exciting time for marketing specialists as there is a lot of opportunity out there for highly skilled talent with strong knowledge across a wide range of specialisms. We’re seeing a lot of demand for candidates who can manage both the brand and the agencies that support their campaigns.

“We are fortunate to have a wide range of major employers here in the region and they regard marketing as central to their strategy. There is sometimes a challenge when recruiting for some of these roles with regards the perceived ‘brain drain’ of talent to London but our message is that you don’t have to leave the East Midlands to build your career. Talk to us and we can help you take that crucial next step.”

Distinct says it is now looking for bigger offices.

Arran Jaiswal, director, said: “Our biggest challenge right now really is our space. We doubled the size of our office back in February taking 800 sq ft suite here in the Landmark Building, but we’re at capacity already and we are actively investigating our options. We will most likely relocate to the city centre as there really is no options here in West Bridgford which is a shame but we can’t let that hold back our growth potential.”
