On the move: the latest East Midlands hires

Craig Hart

Mansfield-based housebuilder Rippon Homes has recruited a new construction director designate.

Craig Hart has a wealth of experience after working for a variety of housebuilders, starting off as an apprentice bricklayer as a teenager and working his way up to construction director.

He said: “I have always been proud to offer an excellent service and provide high quality homes throughout my career in the housing industry.

“I knew about the reputation of Rippon Homes as a high quality housebuilder and Ian Dyke’s experience as the managing director, which I wanted to become a part of. As the new construction director I want to further enhance my own experience and help drive forward business growth.

“I look forward to working with Ian and the Rippon team to provide more high quality homes.”

Catherine Arkley

A Leicestershire businesswoman has been appointed as chair of the Board of Trustees at Derby charity Safe and Sound.

Catherine Arkley takes up the role this month, and will provide strategic leadership to the Safe and Sound Board.

She currently runs her own management consultancy for charities, called Synergies, and has recently completed a Master’s Degree in Work and Organisational Psychology.

Arkley started her career in hotel management before taking a career break to raise her family.

After returning to work as chief executive of the Children’s Liver Disease Foundation, she developed a new vision and public profile for the national charity.

She also led the charity to international renown with its innovative ‘Yellow Alert’ programme; the early detection of liver disease in infants.

Arkley said: “Child sexual exploitation is such an important issue and I have great empathy for the victims. In terms of my experience and skills I hope that there’s a lot I can bring to the charity and that I can provide the team with the support that they need.”
