Games Workshop doubles profits after “fun” year
The firm employs nearly 200 people in Nottingham

Games Workshop, the Nottingham-based manufacturer and retailer of fantasy miniatures, has more than doubled its profits for the year-ending 28 May.

The firm’s profits soared from just under £17m in 2016 to £38.4m this year. Revenues also increased from £118m last year to £158.1m to the end of May.

Kevin Rountree, chief executive of Games Workshop said: “We’ve had another fun and exciting year and made significant progress on our strategic initiatives. You can see from these results that our business and our hobby are in good shape.

“The board continues to believe that the prospects for the business are good.”

Games Workshop employs 187 people in Nottingham, from where its factory, main distribution centre and back office support functions are all based. Some 75% of its sales come from outside the UK.
