Creditors set to miss out in Morgan Tucker administration

Morgan Tucker, the Nottinghamshire-based consulting engineering firm, went into administration at the end of May owing over £3m to creditors, according to papers seen by TheBusinessDesk.com.

Morgan Tucker employed around 70 people and was headquartered in Newark, with offices in Nottingham, London, Leeds, the Czech Republic and Oman.

The business’s expansion into the Middle East caused significant losses, it emerged in June

Among some of the firm’s biggest creditors were Funding Circle which was owed £218,513 and Vendor Loans which was owed £112,000. The firm also owed HMRC £286,513.

Administrators from FRP Advisory say it is unlikely creditors will see any cash owed to them.

The business was established in 2005 by founder and managing director, Matthew Tucker to provide specialist highway, transport and infrastructure engineering design services to clients in both public and private sectors.

In April 2015 private equity firm Foresight Group invested £1m into Morgan Tucker.
