LEP secures £307m in six years

The Greater Lincolnshire Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) says it has secured more than £307m since it was set up in 2011.

The LEP says the Greater Lincolnshire economy has grown in the past year by £200m in real terms, with 80,000 businesses generating almost £21bn for the local economy.

And over £176m of foreign direct investment has been secured in Greater Lincolnshire in 2016/17, creating 447 new jobs.

These are just some of the headlines contained in the Greater Lincolnshire LEP’s latest annual report, which was published at its AGM last Thursday (20th July).

The report details the achievements to date of the Greater Lincolnshire LEP, which was one of the first to be set up in England in 2011.

The report also highlights the work of the Business Lincolnshire Growth Hub, the LEP’s business support arm, which has engaged with over 3,000 businesses this year, created 310 jobs and safeguarded 32 more.

“This report is only a snapshot of the work of the Greater Lincolnshire LEP but it shows very clearly the positive difference we are making to the area’s economy,” said Ursula Lidbetter MBE, chair of the Greater Lincolnshire LEP.

“Our success is the result of the commitment and high-calibre skill set of our board, which is made up of local public sector and business leaders, and the support of a wide range of partners from the public, education and private sectors, who have committed time, expertise and funding resources to support the delivery of the LEP’s ambitious growth programme.
