Electrical contracting company RA Electrical has launched a division to capitalise on the growing demand for intelligent building technology solutions.

The Lincoln-based company has set up Kiwi Connect which will target luxury homeowners as well as architects, designers and building contractors working on commercial developments that require commercial automation solutions.

It hopes to take advantage of the recent advances in technology which have made it more affordable for the owners of commercial and residential properties to incorporate smart building technologies to control heating, lighting, ventilation, entertainment and audio-visual equipment.

RA Electrical’s managing director Ryan Thompson said: “Building automation solutions are very common place in the USA and there are firms in the UK servicing the London and SE markets. However, our research showed a lack of providers in the Midlands and Northern regions of the UK.”

Kiwi has negotiated distribution agreements with most of the major manufacturers of intelligent building technology solutions within the smart technology industry.

He added: “Our business is ideally located in the centre of the UK, and with the manufacture agreements we have negotiated, we are able to offer these technologies very competitively.

“We have already completed our first project and many more are in the pipeline.”
