A Mansfield freight firm has invested three quarters of a million pounds in a new fleet of Renault trucks.

Celebrating its 50th anniversary next year and based in Brierley Park Industrial Estate in Sutton-in-Ashfield, Mitchells of Mansfield has bought ten trucks to help with its growth plans.

The family-run company, which currently has 75 employees and owns a fleet of 38 bought the 10 new trucks from East Midlands Renault Trucks distributor, RH Commercial Vehicles (RHCV) – and says it will buy more later this year.

Andrew Mitchell, managing director at Mitchells of Mansfield said: “We are dedicated to ensuring each of our customers receive a first-class service and as a result of a strong year of growth, we needed to upgrade our existing trucks to ensure we carried out this service efficiently and continue to grow across all markets.

“We chose to purchase Renault trucks for the first time, as the package and deal from RHCV really stood out to us and we were blown away by the brilliant service. We are growing all the time and will eventually upgrade the rest of the fleet this year to Renault trucks – returning to purchase from RHCV when we do.”

Paul Pearson, commercial director at RHCV said: “We are delighted to have worked with Mitchells of Mansfield to help them upgrade and improve their service offering. We are looking forward to working with them further in the near future, as part of the company’s significant growth.”

Renault Trucks distributor RH Commercial Vehicles employs 80 staff across three sites in the East Midlands – in Nottingham, Cossington and Alfreton.
