Big client wins have seen revenues at Derby law firm Flint Bishop break through the £10m barrier.

Revenue has increased by 11% to £10.8m, ahead of the Derby-based firm’s target for the year.

Senior partner Andrew Cochrane said agreements to provide support and legal advice for the likes of Opus Energy, Office Depot, SIG and Haven Insurance were key to its success.

Other highlights this year included acting on some of the largest corporate deals in the region involving companies such as Bell & Co, Arbo Holdings, High 5, Banner Plant, MPS Care Group and British Waterways Marinas.

Flint Bishop’s newly formed partnership and associate programme saw it appoint three new partners, in Andrew Perry, Emma Tice and Raj Sumal as well as five senior associates and six associates.

Cochrane said: “We were delighted by our confidential staff survey which showed 92% of staff had a positive attitude towards their company and their colleagues. This really does show that we are all pulling in the same direction and why we have had such great results”.

“The firm constantly seeks innovative ways of delivering our service to our clients and we have found that, through the effective use of technology, the business has been able to win and retain clients who have seen the benefits in terms of efficiency with which the service is delivered and the level of reporting and transparency of the systems afford.

“Most importantly however the firm constantly assesses with its clients the satisfaction of the service delivered. Providing outstanding customer care is at the centre of everything with do. We have, over the last couple of years, revamped our internal procedures to ensure the service delivered meets the very highest expectations.”

Qamer Ghafoor managing partner for commercial services and head of litigation, said: “I am extremely pleased with our results for 2016/2017. We have seen growth across the business and our positive results are a testament to the quality of our legal offering as well as the dedication and hard work of our staff. Financially we are in a very strong position and we have already made several plans for further growth for each department in our new financial year which in itself has got off to a strong start.”
