5 things to do in the East Midlands this weekend

Nottingham Caribbean Carnival
Head into Nottingham on Sunday to enjoy the Caribbean Carnival. The event is set to include a carnival parade alongside the riverside of the Meadows Embankment. Visitors can expect to see hundreds of colours and dancing, and can also go along to the Carnival Village where you can enjoy live music and entertainment, stalls to browse and workshops to get involved in. Enjoy a whole day of South Asian arts and culture this weekend at Leicester’s Belgrave Mela. There will be entertainment for the whole family to enjoy, with a whole host of live music and entertainment to enjoy, free family activities in the community art zone and lots of stalls to browse, as well as plenty of food and drink options. Hardwick Hall in Derbyshire are hosting two movie nights this weekend. La La Land will be shown tonight (August 18) and Top Gun will be on the screen on Saturday night. Clumber Park in Worksop are hosting The Gloworm Festival this weekend. The family friendly event will see a whole host of children’s TV favourites take to the stage, including The Chuckle Brothers, Andy Day, Potman Pat and more.
