Plans in for new Nottingham Trent building

Plans have been submitted to Nottingham City Council for a 26,403 sq ft Medical Technologies Innovation Facility at Nottingham Trent University’s Clifton Campus.

The two-storey building will be designed by GSS Architecture of Kettering.

A design statement reads: “The development is a new University building which enables students and industry to perform fundamental research projects for medical technologies and innovation at Nottingham Trent University Clifton Campus.

“This project is closely intertwined with another Nottingham Trent University project which will be a technology commercialisation facility within the MediCity building at the Boots site and part of the Nottingham Enterprise Zone.

“The primary objective through the MTIF and MediCity developments is to enable NTU to perform advanced research in convergent medical systems that reduces both the time to market and the cost associated with the creation and commercialisation of innovative health technologies, medical
devices and therapeutics, thus raising local company competitiveness and productivity in the global health and wellbeing sector.”
