5 things to do in the East Midlands this weekend

John Legend: Darkness and Light Tour
Acclaimed and multi-platinum selling artist John Legend is set to take to the stage at Nottingham’s Motorpoint Arena this weekend. The Darkness and Lights Tour, which will have support from English acoustic singer Jack Savoretti, is set to feature some of the hit-maker’s greatest songs, including All of Me, Ordinary People and many more. Parade
The Leicester Amateur Operatic Society are returning to the Curve this weekend for a performance of the Tony award winning musical Parade. The show follows the tragic, true story of Leo Frank, a Brooklyn-born Jew living in Georgia, who is put on trial for the murder of 13-year-old Mary Phagan. Nottingham Mela Festival
Nottingham’s annual South Asian celebration returns this weekend. The event, which celebrates the anniversary of Indian Independence, and the creation of Pakistan and Bangladesh. Derby Colour Run
Head along to Markeaton Park in Derby this weekend to take part in the Colour Run. The event is in support of Derby Hospital’s charity, giving you the perfect opportunity to support your local hospital whilst joining in on the 5k course.
