350 Leicestershire homes a step closer as site comes to market

Some 350 new homes could be built in Leicestershire after a site with planning permission for up to 350 properties has been put up for sale.

Fisher German is marketing the site off Heath Lane, in Earl Shilton, which has outline planning permission for up to 350 new homes and 0.6 hectares of employment land.

Fisher German is acting on behalf of a local farming family and an independent promoter to sell the site, currently being used for agricultural purposes, and is inviting bids from interested housebuilders.

Ross Jackson, of Fisher German, said the development has been received well due to a long-standing housing shortage in the town.

He said: “We are pleased to be marketing the site in Earl Shilton which will bring much-needed new homes to the area.

“The land was identified as a potential development site some time ago and Consultant Partner; John Pitts has since been working with the landowner and independent promoter to provide strategic advice about the process.

“The site not only includes planning permission for housing, but also 0.6 hectares of employment land which will offer jobs in the area and add to the local economy. As part of the development, land has also been provided to extend the medical centre car-park.

“Earl Shilton is a pleasant rural town in Leicestershire with easy access to nearby cities including Leicester, Coventry and Birmingham. It is very well connected in terms of road links, being based just off the M69 and close to the A5 and M1.

“We look forward to working with a developer to provide what will be a fantastic housing scheme and addition to the town.”
