Logged off: Nickie Elenor, Your HR Lawyer

Nickie Elenor, managing director of Your HR Lawyer, tells us how she unwinds after a long working week.

How do you relax at the weekend?
Usually by doing something hedonistic or fun like going on an impulsive city break with my husband or hosting a BBQ with friends and children. The weekend is definitely my time to play.

How many hours do you work at the weekend on average?
Only about one or two hours… but that doesn’t include the time that I am thinking about work!

What’s your favourite?…

Holiday destination? I love the Algarve in Portugal. We have family over there so we’re lucky to be able to visit at least once a year.

Book? You are a Badass by Jen Sincero. She speaks my language! My book will have a similar voice.

Album? This is tough, as I really do love music. I listen to a variety of Spotify playlists, but mainly dance music. If I had to choose an album, I’d probably choose 18 Months by Calvin Harris, or Doo-Wops and Hooligans by Bruno Mars.

Food? I love Chinese food, especially the appetisers!

TV programme? It’s a bit of a guilty pleasure, but Love Island has been my favourite TV programme this year… then again we’re heading into Strictly and X Factor season.

I also love Modern Family, Father Ted, Friday Night Dinner and Gavin and Stacey.

Website or app? My favourite app is Spotify. It’s on all the time from when I wake up to when I put the kids to bed. I’m building a soundtrack to my life!

How do you usually spend Sunday evenings?
Recovering from the weekend! Usually just relaxing at home, watching a film or catching up on TV programmes we’ve missed earlier in the week.
