High-end clothing chain to create 200 jobs in Leicester

Boden's new warehouse and office building at Optimus Point

High-end clothes chain Boden will open its new £30m warehouse and call centre in Glenfield, Leicester, on Wednesday and has pledged to create hundreds of new jobs in the city.

The business, which turns over £283m annually, says it wants to create a further 200 hundred jobs at the 250,000 sq ft warehouse at Optimus Point over the next 5-7 years, to add to the 380 it already employs in Leicester.

A spokesperson for Boden told TheBusinessDesk.com: “Boden is a key investor in the local area and will be continue to be for years to come. We have kept the warehouse within Leicester as to keep our highly-effective workforce. The new space allows for future growth and employment locally, and will provide many more jobs in the future.”

Johnnie Boden, the founder of the firm, will open the new warehouse on Wednesday (27 September). He founded Boden 25 years ago.

Boden is set to open a new store on King’s Road in London in November. The firm says it has seen a 10% increase in its workforce over the last five years.
