The Leicester and Leicestershire Enterprise Partnership (LLEP) has added two more board members.

Emma Anderson is a director in the commercial disputes team at the Leicester office of law firm Freeths.

She said: “I am delighted to be joining the board of the LLEP. I have seen the great projects that the LLEP has been involved in over the last few years and the impact that has had, and will continue to have, on the local economy in terms of innovation, skills development and economic growth in particular.”

“My strong local connections and contacts, coupled with the fact that I have spent the vast majority of my career in Leicester and Leicestershire demonstrate my commitment to the development of our region and have enabled me to gain an understanding of the issues that it faces. I look forward to building on that as a board member of the LLEP.”

Anil Majithia is the chair of Voluntary Action LeicesterShire. Alongside his Voluntary Coupled Support (VCS) experience, Majithia has over 30 years of global business experience. He is also a governor at Coventry University, Trustee of DSU, Governor of North Warwickshire & South Leicestershire College and a member of Governance Committee for Science Council.

He said: “I am honoured to join the LLEP board. The Voluntary (Third) Sector is important to economic growth, has much to offer in creating meaningful employment (through enhancing employability and inclusion) and supports the LLEP in meeting its ambitions for the area. I am looking forward to representing the Voluntary Sector and influencing the areas of contributions the sector can make to meet the LLEP’s Strategic Economic Plan.”
