On the move: the latest East Midlands hires

Beth Fairweather and Barry Payne

Energy and waste management consultancy Blue Castle Group has expanded further following two new appointments.

Barry Payne has joined as a corporate business development manager, and Beth Fairweather has joined as the assistant to the head of operations.

Commercial director, David Brighton, said “It is with great pleasure that I welcome Barry & Beth to our fast-growing team. Beth’s experience is second to none and I’m sure she will be a great asset to our head of operations. Barry has a wealth of expertise and excellent management skills which, combined with his friendly nature, will ensure he transitions seamlessly into his new role.”

Lord William Burlington has been named as the fourth chancellor of the University of Derby.

William Cavendish, Earl of Burlington, is the son of Peregrine Cavendish, who is the 12th Duke of Devonshire and current Chancellor of the University. William Burlington’s career began in photography. After studying under Jorge Lewinski, he worked for eight years as a portrait photographer before setting up Jasmine Photographic Studios.

He said: “It is a privilege and an honour to take on the role of Chancellor at the University of Derby. I am passionate about education and I am excited about being part of a university which offers opportunities for students from all backgrounds to reach their potential, succeed in life and contribute to society. I am thrilled to be able to play a small role in this overall experience. The University is such a tremendous asset to the city of Derby and the county of Derbyshire and I look forward to promoting all three through this association.”
