Notts firm launches two-year talent retention programme

CHaRM Management Specialists, the Ruddington based HR firm, is set to launch a new programme that it says is aimed at helping employers retain the best talent within their organisation.

Running over a period of two years, the firm says its Talent Development Programme is designed to help entrepreneurs and professionals meet that need, while at the same time nurture and develop a culture of continual learning amongst staff members. Its aim is to enable employers to retain and develop their top performers or key staff for the long term benefit of their businesses.

New figures from recruitment giant Hays show that of the 62% of staff planning to move employers during 2017, 27% cited a lack of career development opportunities as the reason for wanting to leave their current employers.

Vicky Carr, director at CHaRM said that employers need to act now: “I think that retention is key for employers, especially as figures are showing that net migration has fallen and feedback from recruiters is that finding talent is getting harder still.

“The focus of this programme is on retention for small to medium sized employers particularly, who won’t be able to compete financially with some of the bigger companies for the best talent when it comes to salaries and benefits but who really need to keep hold of their top performers.”

CHaRM says its Talent Development Programme is ideal for new and future managers who form part of a company’s succession plan, key personnel who have specialist skills and knowledge and top performers who contribute most to an organisation.

Carr added: “Our new programme has been developed in close consultation with our clients so we know that it is something that is sorely needed in the market. SMEs should have access to the same quality of HR support as multi-nationals and once they have it they can thrive based on good quality information about their business and their main assets, their employees. If more businesses thought like that they would reap huge rewards for all.”
