£400,000 invested in new Nottingham bar and restaurant

Roxy Ball Room, the latest bar to open in Nottingham’s food and drink scene, says it has invested £400,000 in transforming 10 Thurland Street which has been sat empty for eight years.

The cash injection is reviving the first floor into a bar and restaurant with capacity for 250 and has created 16 new jobs for the city.

Neil Harrison has been appointed as general manager to Roxy Ball Room after relocating from Manchester.

He said: “Roxy Ball Room offers an experience like no other in the city of Nottingham, which is one of the reasons why I jumped at the opportunity to join the team as general manager,” he explained.

“The bar experience is enhanced by the dedicated gaming areas where customers can book American pool, ping pong and beer pong with friends or colleagues. It’s perfect for birthdays, first dates, work socials and networking events. I’m looking forward to meeting people from in and around Nottingham when we open our doors on Friday 13 October.”

Toni Klas has been appointed as bar manager and comes from the Junkyard Café in Nottingham.

She said: “There are new bars popping up all the time in the centre of Nottingham, but Roxy Ball Room offers something different. I’m excited about making this venue a success and introducing an alternative experience for people looking for a lively and sociable venue.”

Co-owner for Roxy Ball Room Matt Jones added: “We’ve had our sights on Nottingham for a while so we were thrilled to have found the space on Thurland Street which has been transformed over three months to create a spacious bar area with room for 13 gaming tables.

“Because the building has been empty for so long we have invested heavily into the renovation works, but we’re committed to staying in the city and I’m confident the people of Nottingham will love what we have to offer.”
