Derby firm to build Rolls-Royce hotel

Birchover Residences has announced that it will be opening a luxury apartment-hotel in south Derby at Merrill Way.

The development will be built on land at the junction with the A514 Chellaston Road that was formerly occupied by the old community police station, which has since been demolished.

The apartment-hotel is aimed at executives from Rolls-Royce.

Kieran Howell, Birchover managing director, said: “We have a long-standing fantastic relationship with Rolls Royce and their supply chain. Their guests love to stay with us even though some of our other Derby apartment-hotels are in the city centre and the northern side of Derby.

Latham Architects has been commissioned to design the construction drawing package.

The development will comprise 9 one-bedroom and 3 two-bedroom apartments with a staff and laundry room as part of the scheme.

Howell said: “Merrill Way is a perfect fit for us. It demonstrates our commitment to growing our footprint in Derby and will be a key platform for our growth strategy in the next few years across the East Midlands.”
