Chamber training boss lands chief exec role

Sarah Temperton

Chesterfield and Scunthorpe based training provider, NLT Training Services has appointed Sarah Temperton as chief executive.

She joins from the East Midlands Chamber where she was head of training and responsible for planning and leading the strategic direction of the Chamber’s training arm.

Temperton, who lives in Chesterfield, takes over the chief executive role from Simon Marsden, former vice chair of the NLT Board who was appointed to the role in the interim earlier this year. He now moves into business development and finance project roles within the organisation.

With 30 years’ experience of working with an independent provider of work based learning, Temperton will now head up NLT’s commercial and apprenticeship training offering across Derbyshire, South Yorkshire and Lincolnshire.

She brings 12 years’ experience as head of a large training department to the role, which has involved her securing government funding for apprenticeship delivery, support programmes for the unemployed, European Social Fund (ESF) funding and Department of Work and Pensions (DWP) funding.

Temperton said: “I am delighted to join NLT. The organisation has the potential to be a significant player in the skills arena. I am committed to growing the company’s Apprenticeship delivery and creating an organisation that companies choose first for all their commercial engineering training needs.”

She added: “I have enjoyed a long career in the field of training. Working with, leading and influencing people to develop and support them in their career is a passion which I look forward to developing further with NLT.”
