Coffee, cocktails and craft beer venue to open in Derby

BEAR has revealed that its long-awaited Derby store is set to open its doors on Friday 1st December 2017.

Branding itself as #notanothercoffeeshop, the BEAR says it will “redefine the cafe-bar experience in Derby” by also offering cocktails, craft beers and wines.

BEAR had originally hoped to open in late summer.

Founded in 2014 by entrepreneurs Craig Bunting and Michael Thorley, BEAR first opened at the top of Uttoxeter High Street, open to the public for the first time in January 2016.

Bunting said: “We are delighted to be expanding to Derby; the city where Michael and I shopped and skateboarded as kids. Our vision is to combine better coffee during the day with an alternative bar experience in the evenings – served by skilled, passionate staff. We have worked hard to ensure that BEAR is part of a growing movement that breaks the mould and offers a unique and addictive vibe.”

The company says it is working to expand first throughout the Midlands, and then beyond, with hopes to open 30 stores nationwide over the next five years.
