M1 closed in Leicestershire after fire
The motorway is closed in both directions

The M1 is closed in both directions between Junction 20 (Lutterworth) and Junction 21 (M69) due to a HGV fire, according to Highways England.

Diversions are in place.

Southbound: Follow the hollow square symbol.
Exit at Junction 21 and take the M69 southbound. Exit the M69 at Junction 1 and take the A5 southbound. At the A5/A4303 roundabout take the first exit onto the A4303 eastbound to re-join the M1 at Junction 20

Northbound: Follow the hollow square symbol.
Exit at Junction 20. At the roundabout take the first exit onto the A4303 westbound. At the A5/A4303 roundabout take the fourth exit onto the A5 northbound. Join the M69 northbound at Junction 1 and continue to re-join the M1 at Junction 21

Highways England says that road users intending on using this section of road are advised to allow plenty of extra time for their journey and to consider alternative routes (if possible).
