Developer reveals designs for historic Lincoln development

Lincoln-based Jackson & Jackson Developments has revealed the the design plans for its latest residential development on Motherby Hill in the city.

Bailgate Mount is a development of nine, three-bedroom luxury townhouses along the elevated street which leads up to the historic Bailgate area of the city.

The development, which is due for completion in February 2018, is being delivered by Jackson Living; a new residential brand under the Jackson & Jackson Developments umbrella.

Dominik Jackson, director of Jackson & Jackson Developments, said: “Bailgate Mount is a sleek and modern development; both the interior and exterior create a ‘wow’ factor and are very likely to turn heads.

“The design steps up the steeply sloping hillside and reflects the character of the original Victorian terrace that occupied the site until the 1960s. The exterior design is a contemporary interpretation of the original terrace with design features that ensure no overlooking or overbearing issues with adjacent properties.

“The stepped design creates an interesting façade to the cobbled walkway at Motherby Hill, which provides pedestrians easy access to each house, making the homes sympathetic to the surrounding area.

“We worked with LK2 Architects on the architectural designs and we’re very pleased with the outcome which will be recognised for individuality and prestige.”

He added: “I’m very happy with the overall interior design plans for Bailgate Mount and I think it will certainly appeal to young professionals in the area. The interiors have been carefully considered to take advantage of and highlight the space and high ceilings.

“We’re doing something very different to Lincoln’s usual offering but in keeping with current trends to offer a design that is innovative in spec, beautiful in design and precise in execution.

“We look forward to welcoming the first residents into these much-needed homes in April 2018 and are already in process of selling two of the properties.”

The build programme, which is being delivered by local construction consultancy LGG Projects, is currently at ground works stage. The site has now been cleared and reduced to the levels required for the foundations and the drainage to be put in.
