DHP Family’s trailblazing Dot to Dot – the multi-venue new music festival taking place in Bristol, Manchester and Nottingham – has been shortlisted in two categories in the UK Festival Awards.

DHP, the reigning National Promoter of the Year says Dot to Dot has made the shortlist for both ‘Best Festival for Emerging Talent’ and ‘Best Metropolitan Festival’.

Since its inception 12 years ago, Dot to Dot has consistently supported emerging talent and provided a springboard to many artists who have gone on to great success by giving them early, big stage slots. Global superstars such as Ed Sheeran, Ellie Goulding, Foals and The 1975 to Jake Bugg, London Grammar, Dua Lipa and Rag n’ Bone Man have all graced its stages over the years.

Anton Lockwood, DHP Family’s director of promotions, said: “We’re delighted that Dot to Dot is in the running for two national awards. It’s been at the forefront of the wave of urban based multi-venue festivals and has an impressive pedigree for showcasing many artists at a pivotal moment in their careers.

“Dot to Dot has always been and will always be a festival about new music. It’s here you can watch your new favourite band that you didn’t even know existed at 3pm followed by your current favourite band at 10pm. As programmers of the festival, we are very conscious of nurturing new artists and are proud to have provided opportunities to perform to large rooms full of engaged new music fans.”

The 2017 edition of Dot to Dot saw its biggest ever festival take place in May across consecutive days in Manchester, Bristol and Nottingham. Sundara Karma headlined after three years of coming through the ranks; BBC Sound of 2017 shortlisted vocalist Tom Grennan left the Rock City stage beaming and shortly after announced a huge 2018 tour; and The Big Moon received a Mercury nomination.

The UK Festival Awards has been recognising and rewarding the efforts of the nation’s festival industry since 2004. The Award winners are determined through a combination of online fan votes and industry experts.

The winners will be revealed at a ceremony on November 30 at the Troxy, London.
