Promotions revealed at Nottingham law firm

Nottingham-based Fraser Brown Solicitors has announced the promotion of four of its lawyers.

Joanne Soar, Chris Chan, Peter Abel and Liam Wilkinson have been promoted to associates.

Joanne Soar, associate in the licensing team, joined Fraser Brown in 2005 and has over 26 years of experience in the industry. Soar, who is a member of the Institute of Licensing, is a specialist in alcohol and entertainment licensing law.

Chris Chan, associate and commercial recoveries manager in the dispute resolution team, joined the firm three years ago and is a well-respected dispute resolution solicitor in the region. He handles everything from commercial and residential property litigation issues to professional negligence and general commercial litigation work.

Patrick Wood, managing partner at Fraser Brown, said: “Joanne and Chris are talented members of the Fraser Brown team who play a very active role in licensing and dispute resolution and provide an excellent service to their clients.

“Joanne is a bright lawyer who has vast experience in licensing which she utilises for her clients. Chris is a very active lawyer who has been instrumental in increasing Fraser Brown’s dispute resolution services.

Peter Abel, associate in the corporate team, joined Fraser Brown in 2014 as a newly qualified solicitor. He specialises in business and share acquisitions and disposals, banking and acquisition finance, reorganisations and company restructures and partnership matters.

Liam Wilkinson, associate in the commercial property team, joined the firm in 2012 as a trainee and became fully qualified in 2014. He deals with landlord and tenant work and the sale and purchase of commercial property.

Wood continued: “Peter and Liam’s technical abilities are second to none and their promotion is due to their outstanding dedication and work for the firm. They both have a great future ahead of them at Fraser Brown.”
