On the move: the latest East Midlands hires

Shobna Gulati

Leicester’s Curve theatre has announced that actors Jasper Britton and Shobna Gulati will join its Board of Trustees.

Jasper and Shobna were appointed to the Board of the Leicester Theatre Trust (LTT), the body that governs Curve, at the Annual General Meeting on 7 November.

Chair of the LTT Ian Squires said: “I’m delighted that both Jasper and Shobna have accepted the invitation to join our Board. As one of the UK’s leading producing theatres, it’s vital that we have the voices of leading artists at the highest level of the organisation.

“In Jasper and Shobna, we have two highly acclaimed and richly experienced actors who are both great advocates for Curve and are wholly committed to its continuing success. They’re going to be a great asset to the theatre.”

Gulati, who is known for playing Anita in Victoria Woods’ dinnerladies TV series and for her long-standing role as Sunita Alahan in Coronation Street, delighted audiences as Miss Lynch in last year’s Made at Curve production of Grease.

Britton’s connection to theatre in Leicester dates back to 1978 when his father, actor Tony Britton, starred in Cameron Mackintosh’s production of My Fair Lady at the Haymarket Theatre. Britton himself has also enjoyed a critically acclaimed stage career including leading roles at the National Theatre and Royal Shakespeare Company, and a key role in the foundation of the National Youth Music Theatre. This year, he took the role of Dr Rance in Curve’s production of Joe Orton’s What the Butler Saw and he will soon play the title role in the theatre’s upcoming Christmas musical Scrooge.

Ed Sheldon, Damian Summers, Dexter Reeds, Addie Kenogbon, Eileen Pegg and Molly Bingham join the ranks at Tank

Six people have joined the ranks of Nottingham-based digital PR agency Tank.

PR account manager Addie Kenogbon comes to Tank with four years’ agency experience, having worked with clients in finance, law and property.

“I’ve joined Tank at a really exciting time, particularly when we’re increasingly managing campaigns across the pond – without forgetting the local firms we work with here in the East Midlands too of course,” she said.

“Tank is a really ambitious agency which is continually expanding its digital content offering, and I can’t wait to be a part of the success in the coming months.”

Addie, and the wider senior management team, is supported by four new account executives, Damian Summers, Eileen Pegg, Molly Bingham and Ed Sheldon.

Trevor Palmer, Tank’s director and founder, said: “In the past year, we’ve seen significant growth across all areas of the business, particularly on the digital side,” he said.

“Much of this has come from new wins – but many of our existing clients are increasingly engaging our services as they see the power of combining traditional PR with digital.

“It’s always good to see the office filled with new faces, each bringing new ideas, skills and experience, so I’d like to welcome our latest cohort to Tank.”
