Trains delayed or cancelled between Nottingham and Sheffield

East Midlands Trains is saying a person has hit been by a train this morning (15 November)  on rail lines between Sheffield and Nottingham, in the Chesterfield area.

The incident is blocking all lines and trains running through these stations may be delayed by up to an hour – or cancelled altogether.

National Rail says delays will continue until 11.30am.

East Midlands Trains between Liverpool Lime Street and Nottingham/Norwich and Northern Trains between Sheffield/Leeds and Nottingham are affected.

Information for East Midlands Trains customers:
Trains will be diverted via Derby and will not call at Alfreton, Langley Mill, or Ilkeston.
East Midlands Trains are looking into alternative travel options.

Information for Northern customers:
Trains will be diverted via Derby and will not call at Alfreton, Langley Mill, or Ilkeston.
Buses are in place between Chesterfield and Nottingham via Alfreton with the first bus running from Nottingham at 06:40 (operated by Gold Hill).
