Winvic wins 261,000 sq ft Derbyshire shed contract

Nickel 28

Joint venture partners, Richardsons Capital and Thorngrove Land & Property have appointed Winvic Construction to build Nickel 28 – a 261,000sq ft high bay distribution warehouse on the South Normanton Industrial Estate in Derbyshire.

The 41-week building programme is due to commence on the 20th November with the demolition of the existing facility.

The new speculative unit will include a warehouse with associated office accommodation, a large 50m yard, lorry parking facilities, 24 dock loading doors, a secure gatehouse and double stacking entrance road.

Lee Charnley, managing director of Thorngrove Land & Property, said: “We went through a vigorous selection process before appointing Winvic as our preferred contractor. Winvic has a strong, proven track record for delivery and its experience in the industrial sector means that we were confident that they were the right company for the job.”

Kirk Farrow, project manager, Winvic Construction, said: “We are thrilled our reputation for delivering sustainable warehouses of this kind with ecological constraints, and for providing great value and exceptional service as part of The Winvic Way of doing things, has been recognised by the client. We look forward to working with the joint venture partners, Richardsons Capital LLP and Thorngrove Land & Property Limited, to deliver this new scheme on time and within budget.”

Cushman & Wakefield and Commercial Property Partners have been retained as the joint letting agents.
