A38 closed in Derbyshire after serious collision
Diversions are in place after an incident last night

The A38 southbound in Derbyshire is closed between the junctions of the A516 (near Mickleover, just south of Derby) and the A50 (at Toyota Island) due to a serious collision, says Highways England.

Derbyshire Police are in attendance along with recovery and clear-up team.

The northbound carriageway is also closed within the A50 junction with traffic being diverted via the exit and entry slip roads.

A diversion route is in place for the southbound carriageway:

Road users travelling southbound may exit the A38 near Mickleover and join the A516 southbound towards Hilton, following the ‘solid black circle’ diversion symbol. Then join the A50 eastbound towards Toyota Island, to then re-join the A38 southbound.
