Business blooms for West Bridford pub

Newly-opened venue The Botanist says it has seen business blossom since its launch in West Bridgford last month.

Centrally located on Bridgford Road, the pub was highly anticipated and has welcomed around 10,000 customers through the doors in its first seven weeks of trading.

The Botanist’s food offering has proved to be a real hit, with over 5,000 visitors choosing to indulge in a selection of the venue’s decadent dishes. The most popular choice amongst diners has been the hanging chicken kebab, covered with sweet chilli and ginger, and served with garlic butter and properly seasoned chips. Over a thousand people have enjoyed the dish so far.

The menu of plant-based cocktails has been one of the venue’s main attractions, with the Raspberry Disaronno Sour in high demand. The tempting and beautifully presented tipple blends raspberry puree, lemon and pomegranate juice with Disaronno and raspberry liqueur.

David Dernley, general manager for The Botanist, said: “We are really happy with the enthusiasm and warmth we’ve received from our customers so far who have all told us how excited they were to hear we were opening and how much they love the new venue.

“One couple were so impressed with our beautiful, botanically themed surroundings that they have enquired about holding a wedding here.”

For those looking for more of an experience, The Botanist has some attractive options. A gin masterclass held later in October was a huge success with participants learning all about the origins and history of the popular drink.

The attendees at the 90-minute session were treated to samples of the extensive range of gins on offer at The Botanist, with its on-site experts guiding them through the distinctive flavours and botanicals in each bottle.

“We have had lots of enquiries into our range of masterclasses from people who are looking for an unusual Christmas gift, or just a fun activity to do together with friends,” David said.

Preparations for the festive season are well underway, with tickets now on sale for a Christmas wreath making masterclass on Wednesday 29 November, and bookings being taken for a free Christmas sing-along, featuring a choir and pianist, on Thursday 14 December.
