Plans submitted for Nottingham mixed-use scheme

Fresh plans have been submitted to Nottingham City Council to substantially extend a mixed-use scheme in the city.

Hyson Green Limited wants to build a three-storey mixed-use scheme that would include 33 student apartments, restaurant and takeaway on a derelict site on Gregory Boulevard in Nottingham.

The firm was given the green light last year for a 23-bed scheme on the same site.

A planning statement with the application, says: “The proposals will deliver economic benefits by creating both construction jobs and further permanent and part-time employment opportunities in the development.

“The improvements to the site will make the location a more attractive proposition in Hyson Green for businesses to start up and move to, bringing employment opportunities to both the local area and wider afield. The new retail space will provide attractive contemporary space for up to 10 retail workers in start-up spaces which are flexible and can be adapted to different business sizes.

“The proposals will deliver major improvements to the retail offer of Hyson Green, allowing
improved commercial space in a competitive market, bringing additional employment benefits to the locality with enhanced commercial space.”
