Wine bar sells 4,000 glasses in first month

Nottingham’s first self-serve wine bar, Another?, says it has sold over 4,000 glasses of wine since it opened just one month ago.

Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc topped the charts as the punters’ number one wine this month, closely followed by Baron de Barbon Rioja.

Owner Sam Benjamin, said: “It’s been a brilliant month for us and it’s been so great to see so many friendly faces. We’ve witnessed a whole mix of visitors over the past few weeks, from seasoned wine lovers to those that are new to the world of wine, and for me, that’s exactly what I had in mind when I chose to launch this venture.

“We’ve received a lot of positive feedback since our launch and as a result, we’ve now introduced a permanent nibbles menu along with a selection of baked cheeses and locally sourced fresh bread, which are available on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Sundays. In keeping with the festive season, we have also introduced mulled wine and mince pies.”

This month also saw the wine bar launch its first wine tasting evening. Featuring a selection of nine Spanish wines, the event saw over 30 customers learn about some of the finest wines Spain has to offer. The team at Another? now plan to make the event a regular fixture with wine tasting evenings to be scheduled for the first Monday of each month going forward.

Benjamin added: “The reception we’ve received following our launch has been amazing. We’re already working on some really exciting plans for the future, including the launch of our roof terrace and Prosecco garden in the spring, which will have two additional wine machines.”
