East Mids entrepreneurs to create “five-star” luxury venue in Nottingham

Lakeside sold after two years of being closed

A group of East Midlands entrepreneurs, led by hospitality and leisure consultant David Waycot, have bought the Lakeside in Nottingham, and want to create a five star luxury venue on the site.

The Grade ll listed former Victorian Pumping Station is currently undergoing a multimillion-pound refurbishment programme, with phase one expected to be completed and ready for opening in the spring of 2018.

The new owners say they are committed to completely restoring the property and delivering it back to its former glories.

The interior is to be designed by Design Practice by Uber directed by senior design consultant – Simon Evans.

Phase one will include an 80-seater restaurant and Champagne and cocktail bar, along with alfresco lakeside dining. Meanwhile, the Tower Banqueting Suite will seat up to 80 guests, and will be licensed for civil ceremonies and weddings.

The new owners say the kitchen staff will be of a “Michelin star pedigree”, using locally sourced ingredients to serve British and international dishes.
